40th ANNUAL IOWA STATE FAIR DRUG FREE BENCH PRESS DEADLIFT CONTEST

Second Saturday of the 2024 Iowa State Fair August 17th, 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. IA Susan Knapp Amphitheater

Weigh-ins: 3 pound allowance at weigh-ins

• Friday, August 16th, 2024: 9:00-11:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM at 22nd Street Barbell at 3129 NW Prairie Lane, Des Moines, Iowa 50313

• Saturday, August 17th, 2024: 7:00-8:00 AM at the Iowa State Fair Susan Knapp Amphitheater

  • Please note we will not be doing weigh-ins after this since we have to get the meet going. PLEASE be early, allow time to get to the fair, get parked, and get to the lifting area.

Rules Meeting: 8:30 AM (ALL lifters must attend)

Lifting starts: 9:00 AM 

Location: Iowa State Fairgrounds 30th and E Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA

• Susan Knapp Amphitheater located in the NE corner of the fair

ENTRY FEE: $70 PER DIVISION

Bench Press and deadlift Divisions

YOUTH RAW: 8-15 yrs old

TEEN RAW: 16-19 yrs old  

JUNIOR RAW: 20-23 yrs old

OPEN: 14+

MASTERS 1 RAW: 40-49 YEARS OLD

MASTERS 2 RAW: 50-59 YEARS OLD

MASTER 3 RAW: 60-OVER YEARS OLD

MENS WEIGHT CLASSES: 123, 132, 148,165,181,198, 220, 242, 275, 308, 308+.

WOMENS WEIGHT CLASSES: 105, 114, 123, 132, 148, 165, 181, 198, 220, 220+.

Trophies will be awarded to the first 3 lifters in each weight class

You can change your weight class. This is only helping us get trophies and divisions set!
